Haircut Disasters

The One-Week Test

July 31st, 2009

I was looking around to try out a new Korean-owned barber shop or hair salon in the Seattle area.  I normally alternated between two Korean barbers in the area (Seoul Barber and Ha Yoon Hee Beauty Salon) for the past ten years until I got tired of going there and decided to see if there would be anybody else out there who would give me that one perfect Asian hair cut all the time.  I drove to Paldo World in Lynnwood and it turned out they were on vacation.  So, I went to Hair Sense on Hwy 99 in north Lynnwood, and there was an older lady there who worked by herself.  I specifically told her not to cut the sides too short and that I didn’t want my skin showing on the sides.  Well, I don’t know what part of “do not cut the sides too short” she didn’t understand!  I was a little scared because she kept scraping my head with that electric razor like there was no tomorrow.  Personally, I respect stylists that cut with mostly scissors instead of the razor.  It feels like they are more professional than having to rely on electric razors.  So, anyway, I wasn’t too impressed with this lady.  However, when I went home, I decided it was an ok haircut.  We shall see… in about a week’s time.  I heard it takes a week to know whether you got a good haircut or not.  I’ll keep you all posted!
