Home Of The Future

From South Korea

September 12th, 2008

Imagine coming home from work wondering what you should eat for dinner and your internet fridge tells you exactly what you can make with whats inside it and even gives you the recipe for cooking it too!  South Korea now has the home of the future today with robots that can help make your life a little easier.  Japan may be the land of the robots, but South Korea’s government wants every family to own a robot by the year 2020.

Since South Korea’s major financial crisis in the 1990′s, it’s government put most of their investments into information technology and urged companies to bring high-speed internet to every home in the country.  And today, South Korea is the most wired country in the world.  But when it comes to lightning fast internet connections, South Koreans talk megabytes per second, not kilobytes.  This reflects the impatience and cavalier of the techno-hungry South Koreans.  We want the latest and greatest, and we want them now!
