I Didn’t Blink!: Racist Face-Detection Cameras?
Looks like some Asians have been experiencing some discrimination from their new Nikon face-detection cameras. “Did someone blink?” it would ask, even when you think you haven’t squinted. A similar thing happened to a black person on an HP Pavilion laptop. His built-in camera couldn’t detect his face, but worked fine on a Caucasian. Okay, we understand Hewlett-Packard is an American company — but what about Nikon? Nikon is a Japanese company. Didn’t they think about us Asians? :D Read the full article from Time Magazine.
