Teaching English In South Korea

An Amazing Experience

November 9th, 2008

My friend, Damian inspired me to write something about teaching jobs in South Korea.  He’s a new college grad who wants to experience life in a different country, so he’s on his way over to Incheon next year to teach English!  I believe teaching English in any foreign country is a rewarding experience in itself.  Korea is the most in-demand country for English teachers in Asia, and the highest paying too.  Every year, there are more than 10,000 first-time English teachers that go to Korea!  You can choose between teaching in the public or private sectors, and no teaching experience is required.  If you have a college degree, and your native language is English, you automatically qualify for the job.  English teachers are one of the most respected people there, and are treated almost like royalty.  If you’re considering the life-changing opportunity, it’s best to go through an ESL recruiter based in the United States.  I heard you might not get to teach in Seoul as a first-timer, but Incheon and Pusan are some good choices too.  For more information, check out “Gone2Korea”.
